Application
The Y-Type Strainer is the most common and economical type of strainer for permanent applications, suitable for liquid, steam and gas mediums. Due to the compact and low weight construction the easy and quick cleaning are Y-Type Strainers used in following manners like:
• Pump protection
• Flow meter protection
• Valve and regulator protection
• Protection of heat exchanger and refrigerating set
• Protection of steam traps
• Instrumentation and ancillary piping item protection
Usage
Y type strainers protect your fluid handling system against the damag that can occur to valves. Traps and other equipment when foreign matter such as dirt. Scale or welding particles travel through the pipeline. Available with threaded or flange end connections in carbon steel, stainless steel, for services up to 1500LB.
Strainers feature a machine-tapered seat for a perfect fit of the removable strainer screen; and a blow-off plug that can be replaced with an optional ball valve for in-line blow-down of dirt, scale, etc.
